TRANSFORMERS QUAKE 1.76 UPDATE
################################################################
A note on 1.76...it doesn't update TransSkin. TransSkin is going
to be changed simply to "TransQuake" for single player play.
The skin changing ability that TransSkin contained is now also
in TransBot, so there is no need for TransSkin.

Description of modifications:
Version 1.75 features the option of two types
of games. The first, botprogs.dat, is a newer bot game than featured
in previous versions of Transformers Quake, so if you're updating, please
read about the bot game below. Bacically,
you’re a human fighting with/against 16 transformers, Megatron,
Ironhide, Rumble, Frenzy, Bluestreak, Optimus, Soundwave, Jetfire,
Thundercracker, Skywarp, Starscream, Blaster, Ratchet, Grimlock, Galvatron,
and Rodimus Prime.. skinprogs.dat is a skin game based off of MSPRO.
You can change skins during play to one of the 16 offered. If your
opponents also have this, then they can change skins and everyone will
look different. Otherwise, no one is going to look any different
unless they also have the files. The rest of the slots haven’t been
filled, so they’re just humans.
Install Instructions:
Simply extract all files into your QUAKE directory (which
is assumed by me to be C:\Quake). The extraction process will seperate
all files into specific folders. Two folders will be made (TransBot
and TransSkin), and a progs.dat, a pak0.pak, and a config.cfg file will
go into each, so you don't have to worry about seperating and renaming
them anymore. The CONFIG.CFG files give already bound keys for the
specific impulses, which you can find by reading below.
List Of Commands for both games:
Transformers bot game (new version)
The main thing you must do in this newer version of
the bot, is bind impulses 80, 81, and 82 to three keys. This allows
you to bring up an administrator's menu. From there, you control
what goes on with the bots and the rest of the game. In Version
1.71 and beyond, the three keys are "j", "k", and "l".
bind j "impulse 80"
bind k "impulse 81"
bind l "impulse 82"
Then, when I hit "j" "k" "l" in succession,
the menu is ready to be used. You will notice that just pressing
"j" will bring up the menu, but you can't use any of the options.
That is because you are actually in the process of entering a passcode
for the menu, so only you can control the game. Therefore, by using
three values, this ensures you have complete control, unless someone else
playing has this game. The only other impulse you must bind is "impulse
255", and in V1.71+, this impulse is bound to the "h" key:
bind h "impulse 255"
This allows you to "cancel" while using the menu.
By the way, you can only use the menu while you are alive, and it can't
be accessed in the console. Otherwise, it's very handy.
To turn skinmode on, go to the menu, and it's option
6.
Another option is providing the "bots" with a specific
color, and by defining this color, every bot will be identified by this
color. If you want to change the bots' color, go to the console and
type:
temp1 [ (shirtcolor * 16) + Pantscolor ]
For example, if you want every bot to be red, type:
temp1 68
which is 4 (shirtcolor) times 16 = 64 + 4 (pantscolor) = 68
One thing you can do in the menu is set "maxbots".
When you enter the menu, this is option 3, and by setting maxbots, everyone
comes in at once with random colors. Cool Feature. For this
game, I suggest when you set Maxbots, to set it to 9, because it will count
you as one, and the 8 Transformers in the game will represent the other
8.
Transformers online skin game:
IMPULSE 200 - move ahead one skin. (K key)
IMPULSE 201 - go back a skin. (J key)
In version 1.71 and beyond, these keys will be
bound to "k" and "j", respectively
ALSO!!!
The Bot game takes in the same commands as the skin
game, so you can also be one of the 16 TF's yourself.
Please send any skins or models to
